I had the good fortune of adopting a wonderful Dalmatian out of Carson's Shelter back on June 25, 1998. Save the Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue had helped me in the process by discussing with me the different options that were available for getting a new pet Dalmatian. I was pretty sure I wanted a Dalmatian but just did not know the best way to get one. When I was reading through the LA Times pet section I came across an add about Dalmatians needing homes and that is how I got in touch with Save The Dals of Southern California.
After I learned about how many Dalmatians were in the county shelters and as I thought all this over for a week or so I just could not see any other way for me to get one other than from a shelter.
So soon enough, within the next couple of days I went to Carson's shelter and adopted a young boy who I named Willie. Well Willie has just turned out to be the best dog I, or anybody else could of asked for. He is great. Willie is just as happy, playful and friendly as can be. He is also very smart and was completely house trained within three days from his arrival at my home and has never had an accident since. And he never barks at all except sometimes when he is around other dogs and wants to get them to play with him. Everywhere I take him people comment on what a nice dog he is and lots of people can't believe that a dog as nice as he is came from a shelter. What a tragedy it is for dogs like Willie to end up in shelters. But I am so glad I got him and he has become such a good thing in my life. Everybody that knows him thinks he's great and a couple people have even asked me if I wanted to give him to them.
I am so glad I choose the route I did.
Thanks So Much!
