Tor was a very special Dalmatian boy who was rescued from the Carson Shelter by Save the Dals Founder Terri Haase back in late 1998 or early 1999. He was one of the first Dalmatians rescued at the start of the organization. We knew he would need a special home to handle his energy and spirit; Jerry and Dory gave him that and much more. Here is Dory and Jerry's tribute to a wonderful Dalmatian boy, El Torro.

Volunteers and Foster Homes Needed
Save the Dalmatians is seeking volunteers to assist with administrative duties. This type of responsibility would include newsletters, mailings, maintaining data bases, sending out email donor solicitations, auctions, raffles, mailing raffle items, soliciting raffle items, sending thank you letters, mailing raffle items, contacting artists, doing the Yahoo group emails, EBay listings, etc. If possible it would be nice to have several volunteers to take on these various duties so that one person doesn't get overwhelmed. These duties can be done via the internet so the volunteers do not necessarily have to be in Southern California.
Save the Dalmatians also needs a new corporate secretary to serve on the board of directors. This position is located physically in Southern California and would need to attend board meetings and take minutes. The other two board members are located in Orange County and Ventura County so it would be nice if the new board member was located close to either of them but not mandatory.
We also desperately need foster homes. We are unable to keep our rescued Dalmatians at our founder Terri Haase’s kennel due to a serious back injury she suffered. This means we are currently boarding our rescued dogs at commercial boarding facilities for as much as $21 a night. Donations to help us cover our boarding costs would be very welcome as well. Help! Help! Foster Homes Needed!
If you live in Southern California and would like to provide a temporary home for a rescued Dalmatian, we need you! Requirements for foster homes include a secure fenced yard with fence at least 6' high, having less than the maximum number of pets allowed by your city and time to devote to training and housebreaking the foster Dalmatian. If you are interested in applying to be a foster home, please contact us.
