A Prayer for Animals
Hear our humble prayer,
O God,
for our friends, the animals,
especially for those who are suffering;
for any that are lost or deserted
or frightened or hungry.
We entreat for them all
Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them,
we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves,
to be true friends to animals
and so to share
the blessings
of the merciful.

Lexus
Lexus was rescued from the Carson shelter, age approximately 1 to 3
years old in 1997, and lived a happy life with Bill and Terri Haase. He was the
first Dalmatian ever rescued by Terri and was the founding dog of Save
the Dalmatians. He had to be euthanized October 31, 2004 due to
degenerative disk disease. We miss you, Lex! |

There was a sadness in her eyes and an aching in her
heart. A sadness I could see, and an aching I could feel.
It was all she could do to take care of herself and
her 4 pups. She was courageous and brave and overcame all of the
obstacles placed in her way. Every day of her life had been a test of
survival.
She was destined to be my dog. I don't know why we had
to wait until she had suffered for two years before finding each other.
I don't know why we would only have 14 months together before she would
once again be betrayed. This time, by her own body.
She fights, but she is growing very tired. She will
let me know when she has no more strength to fight. Then it will be my
turn to be brave and courageous.
Bug has changed my life and I'm unsure of what my
future will be without her.
